We met with the manager in one-on-one coaching sessions to discuss with him how he might adapt his communication style to the new teamwork paradigm the company wanted to promote. By examining the rationale for his authoritarian style, we were able to position the change as adding to his toolkit, rather than changing something that was "bad."
